Biot is an authentic Medieval village located on the hills between Nice and Antibes, and is only a short distance to the sea. Famous worldwide for its master glassmakers, Biot still perpetuates this tradition today.
The glass factory in Biot exhibits the works of listed artists throughout the year. To admire craftsmen at work, all you have to do is push the door of one of the 8 glass factories currently in operation. In addition to master glassworkers, Biot is also home to many artists, potters, ceramists, jewellers andpainters The Chemin du Val de Pome hosts the Fernand Léger Museum, which exhibits a fine collection of paintings and ceramics . There is also , an astonishing arboretum sheltering superb bonsai trees to be discovered in this area. Ideally, in July/August, temperatures do not exceed 30°C during the day and drop to 22°C (even 19°C) at night. In December, if they are at a minimum of 5°C, temperatures can rise to 22°C. Tasting the delights of French cuisine is simple here: many restaurants offer the best of what the Mediterranean has to offer. Every Tuesday is marketday, an excellent opportunity to take part in the local village life. Hiking enthusiasts can explore the village's surroundings along the many footpaths. They can follow the river Brague, which will take them to Valbonne village. For Golf enthusiasts there is the renowed ‘Bastide du Royal golf’ course in Biot.
